GoateeSaver

The GoateeSaver is a great new product for guys who want the perfect goatee.

The product's inventor had already commissioned a Flash site to tell people about this new product and demonstrate its usage. We were asked to integrate e-commerce, and specifically Zen Cart, with that site.

Our primary objective was to carry as many of the design elements from the Flash site into the on-line store (as well as adding a few flourishes of our own), despite having to work with much more limiting technologies. And we worked closely with the Flash designer to ensure that that visitors to the site could move back and forth seamlessly between the two parts.

Because the store sits behind the Flash front end, and has just two products - the GoateeSaver itself and a trade pack - we bypassed many of the traditional parts of an online store, such as the home page and product listing pages.

Instead visitors are brought straight into the product information page, which has been re-labelled as a FAQ. We also re-wrote the process flow for checking out to remove online shopping's traditional references to signing up and creating accounts, for what will often be a one-off purchase.
